Dr. Hyunjin Min

Guitarist

 

 

 

 

Hyunjin Min, a Korean guitarist, holds a Doctoral degree in Guitar Performance at the University of Minnesota in the USA, where he studied with Jeffrey Van, taught for 3 years, and was awarded Teaching Assistantship and the Bernakin Scholarship. He holds Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Guitar Performance from the University of North Texas, USA where he studied with Thomas Johnson and also taught for 2 years. In North Texas, he was awarded Teaching Fellowships and eight scholarships including Adkins String Scholarship and Brian Houck Memorial Guitar Scholarships. In addition to performing many venues in Canada and the USA, Hyunjin Min has won various awards, including the Lanham Music Scholarship at St. Joseph International Guitar Festival and the Dallas Museum of Art Concert Series competition. He has received invitations to give solo recitals from numerous organizations, including Texas A&M University, Corpus Christi and he was a member of North Texas Colligium Musicum for 5 years, performing the Baroque Guitar. He has a very wide repertoire, from the contrapuntal music of J.S. Bach to the highly technical Concierto de Aranjuez by J. Rodrigo. In 2005, he was appointed a full-time faculty member in Guitar Performance at the Eastern Mediterranean University in North Cyprus.
