Aleksandr Zabolotkov

MMus, BM, Violin Performance, Prokofyev State Conservatory, Donetsk, Russia; Diploma, Prokofyev Music Teacher-Training College.

Born in Crimea in 1960, Alexander Zabolotkov graduated solo violin performance from Prokofiev State Conservatory in Donetsk where he studied with Victor Titkov. Zabolotkov also worked with the Donetsk Concert Philharmonic Society and was a member of the Association of Music Ensembles. He won second place in the Ukrainian Competition with his modern arrangement of classical pieces. Zabolotkov came to Northern Cyprus in 1993 and has been performing since then as a concert artist and as guest performer for Bayrak Radio and Television. He had taught violin at the Fine Arts School in Nicosia for one year. Currently he teaches violin and chamber music in the Music Department of Eastern Mediterranean University and coordinates the Saturday School. He speaks Russian, English, German, and Turkish.
